This is a link to a big scooter club forum. It’s a New Hampshire club so maybe not al information applies to Melbourne but they do have some interesting discussions on the forum.
A poll was held amongst their members about why scooters are better then motorbikes. This resulted in;
They attract more attention 20%
You can ride a little more recklessly 17%
Scooterist are more friendly 35%
I like going fast on a small bike 28%
When I read the comments of people on this poll two things got to my attention. A lot of scooterists are loving their rides for the agility and the way they cross traffic fast.
Many others are talking about the tricks they do with their scooters. We didn’t discuss this yet in class but I think especially for the younger scooter drivers the ability to learn some moves on it is appealing. Dangerous but fun.
So what is it…. An engine powered bmx bike???
I did find some clips about people doing tricks. Some of the tricks are succesfull others aren't....but the risk is part of the fun i guess. Poor thing is that i don't know how to upload movies so send me a message if you want to see them. I'll send them to you by e-mail.
